Job Description

Position Purpose The incumbent produces diagnostic mammograms, assists the radiologist and referring physicians in mammographic procedures, and ensures patient care while representing the purpose of Renown Health. Nature and Scope The major challenges to this position include being able to understand and apply the technical skills required to operate mammographic equipment to obtain image quality that meets ACR guidelines. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to adult and geriatric patients served, and meet standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age-specific competency standards. The incumbent may be asked to perform other job duties related to Renown Breast Centers as needed. This position has the authority to make technical decisions that will provide the best possible mammographic image quality. This position must be proficient in the use of the
MAMMOGRAPHY UNIT.
This position will require training and general knowledge attained to operate the hospital and department computer systems. Preferred Name Description Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Experience:
Minimum one-year clinical experience in the respective department preferred. License(s): American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R) at time of hire. State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography at time of hire. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(M) must be acquired at time of hire. State of Nevada license for Mammography must be acquired at time of hire. Certification(s): BLS certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire. Computer /
Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
