Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-Ray Technician/Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of medical imaging techniques, including X-ray, sonography, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, and CT imaging. This role requires a proactive professional with strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support diagnostic evaluations and emergency care. The successful applicant will contribute to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety and accuracy in all procedures. Duties Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-ray, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, and CT scans with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Assist physicians and radiologists in conducting specialized imaging procedures including nuclear medicine and sonography. Prepare patients for imaging exams by explaining procedures, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Maintain accurate documentation of imaging results and patient information in compliance with medical record standards. Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated according to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols. Support emergency room staff by providing rapid diagnostic imaging in urgent care situations within a Level I Trauma Center or Level II trauma center setting. Uphold strict infection control standards and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate diagnostic evaluations that support effective treatment planning. Experience Proven experience in diagnostic radiology including X-ray, mammography, DEXA scan, PET scan, CT, and nuclear medicine procedures. Prior work in urgent care settings or emergency rooms is highly desirable; experience within a Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center is preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately interpret imaging results and assist in diagnostic evaluation processes. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to radiology and emergency medicine practices. Demonstrated competence in operating advanced medical imaging equipment while maintaining patient safety standards. Experience working with diverse patient populations requiring compassionate care during stressful or urgent situations. Additional skills such as ultrasound (sonography), diagnostic radiology expertise, or experience with DEXA scans are advantageous for this role.
