Radiologic Technologist - Per Diem Radiologic Technologist - Per Diem
POSITION SUMMARY
Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of all diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations and equipment.RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions. Must prepare or enter written documentation as required by the Department, such as informed patient consent, patient chart documentation, and other related duties. Perform portable and operating room examinations in a timely and professional manner, must observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary. Check equipment supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Assess the physical needs of the adult and geriatric patients. Demonstrate the ability to recognize and ally patients' fears and apprehensions about exams. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Complete requested examinations in a timely manner, observing radiation safety standards. Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for the hearing impaired, physically challenged or any other patients who may enter the Hospital. Observes bio-safety and radiation safety rules and regulations. Responsibilities and duties may be added, changed or deleted at any time at the discretion of the Assistant Director of Radiology or the Director of Radiology, either verbally or in writing. Performs related duties in PACS. Responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital/department policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety. Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust. Capable of working independently/unsupervised. Rotation to weekend/holiday coverage as needed. Rotation to all article 28 off-sites.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology. NYSDOH License Required. ARRT Required.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
: Computer knowledge preferred. As part of employment at Sout hampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.Special Notes :

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBSH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Your total compensation goes beyond the number in your paycheck! Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital's Employee Health Services- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references. Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings. Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s). Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
