Job Description

OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Part-Time X-Ray Technologist to join our team for the summer at our offsite location. This seasonal position provides imaging services in a dynamic clinical setting and is ideal for candidates looking for temporary summer employment. The schedule may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends based on operational needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to: Performs X-rays on a digital X-ray machine. Prepare the patient for X-ray, explain procedures to the patient and/or family, and prepare the room, equipment, and materials as needed. Position the patient and arrange immobilization and support devices for the patient. Practice radiation protection techniques to limit exposure to patients and medical staff. Adjust equipment controls and determine proper technique and exposure time. Administer routine x-ray exams, assist in physical exams, assist in treatment of patients by giving injections, changing dressings, or removing sutures under physician or nurse practitioner direction. Observe the patient and machine during the procedure. Report unusual occurrences and record the patient's condition. Document patient charts with procedures performed. Clean and disinfect X-rays and equipment, and maintain and order X-ray supplies. Perform x-ray quality assurance tests and maintain x-ray quality assurance records. Perform all medical assistant functions and assist front-end registration staff or perform additional clerical duties necessary. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Current certification and New York state licensure in radiology technology. Completion of an accredited radiology technology program. Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists. Knowledge of specific OSHA requirements regarding radiological procedures. Six months of X-ray experience and familiarity with routine medical procedures. Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology. BLS certification. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records. Detailed-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
