Perform proper procedures to obtain, transmit and store radiographic images within Picture Achieving & Communicion System (PACS). Explain exams to pients so th the pient understands wh is to be done. Assist radiologists in fluoroscopic examinions. Practice radiion safety in order to reduce exposure to pient, staff and self. Maintain records and files of exams performed on pients within Electronic Health Records Management systems.

Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d).

Educion Requirement:

Completion of a full-time training course of least 24 months in durion (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certifice or an associe degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educion in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from other accrediting agencies as recognized by the Department of Educion (DOE).

Certificion:

All applicants must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Advanced ARRT certificion is required for assignments th include computed tomography (CT) . Advanced certificion indices th the incumbent can opere independently and has demonstred specific clinical competency in the approprie specialty and taken and passed the designed examinion. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfhering Provision as described in the VA Qualificion Standard for this occupion (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupion and meet the criteria).
