Qualifications Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Role Overview:
Radiologic Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, performing radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. They independently conduct or assist with procedures, ensuring patient safety, proper positioning, and image quality while adhering to federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, document clinical history, and maintain confidentiality. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure. Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed. Evaluate images for proper positioning and quality, verify data transfer, and perform post-processing if needed. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist licensed practitioners in fluoroscopic and specialized procedures. Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures in various settings, including operating rooms and ICU. Participate in quality and process improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology. The role requires technical competence, attention to detail, patient safety focus, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical environment.
