Full Job Description Role Overview:
Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently execute or assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring accurate data acquisition for diagnosis by licensed practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain correct orders, identify patients, prepare them for exams, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality. Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles for patient safety. Prepare and/or administer medications via vascular access as prescribed. Evaluate image quality, verify proper positioning, and ensure proper data storage and transfer. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers. Assist practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the Radiology Department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate of Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor's Degree preferred. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months. Applicants hired after a specified date must complete steps to advance to level 2 within 24 months.
