Full Job Description Role Overview:
Radiologic Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis, and assist licensed practitioners. They prepare, administer, and document medications and radiation exposure in compliance with laws and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain correct orders, ensure patient identification, and prepare for exams while respecting confidentiality. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety and care. Prepare and/or administer medications via vascular access as prescribed. Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and verify data storage or transfer. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers. Assist with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures, including outside the radiology department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor's degree preferred. Obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire (for new graduates). Ability to perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures independently or with assistance. Strong attention to patient safety, technical skill, and adherence to regulations.
