Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research imaging procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently conduct or assist with CT and molecular imaging, ensuring accurate data acquisition for diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety and care quality. Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and verify data storage and transfer. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with interventional procedures, and perform prescribed CT scans. Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in all routine and complex duties. Adhere to organizational policies and contribute to a safe, collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Certification by ARRT or NMTCB with ARRT-CT is required. Education includes graduation from a radiologic technology program; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidates should have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality care.
