Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience ARRT (MR) certification required BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of Epic experience required First-time travelers will be considered with 3+ years of MRI experience Siemens MRI experience requested Community hospital experience preferred Experience with adult acute care, ICU, outpatient, and ER/trauma settings preferred Experience performing MRI examinations of the brain, spine, abdomen, pelvis, and musculoskeletal areas Experience with MRA, MRV, and MRCP preferred Experience with contrast administration and starting peripheral IVs GE equipment experience preferred PACS experience required Job Description The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for the evaluation and treatment of patients. The technologist operates MRI equipment, follows established safety and patient-care protocols, prepares patients for examinations, and works closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals. This is a fast-paced MRI position supporting a mobile MRI location. The technologist must have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Duties and Responsibilities The MRI Technologist is expected to perform safe and accurate MRI procedures according to physician orders and established protocols. Specific duties may include but are not limited to: Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and department protocols. Perform MRI studies involving the brain, head and neck, spine, abdomen, pelvis, and musculoskeletal areas. Perform specialized MRI procedures including MRA, MRV, and MRCP. Prepare patients for MRI procedures and explain examinations to ensure patient comfort and safety. Screen patients for MRI safety and follow established MRI safety protocols. Prepare and administer contrast media as required. Start peripheral IVs when necessary for contrast-enhanced examinations. Operate MRI equipment and utilize appropriate imaging techniques to obtain diagnostic-quality images. Utilize PACS and perform appropriate image post-processing. Perform T1-weighted, T2-weighted, spin echo, gradient echo, and other appropriate MRI sequences. Use surface coils and appropriate imaging techniques based on the examination. Follow infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE requirements. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Recognize and report equipment issues or abnormalities to the appropriate personnel. Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Protect patient confidentiality and maintain professional conduct. Follow all department, hospital, and Prisma Health policies and procedures. Float to other qualified Prisma Health units or campuses as required. Working Conditions The MRI Technologist works in a fast-paced MRI environment providing diagnostic imaging services to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The position requires strict adherence to MRI safety procedures and may involve working with patients requiring isolation precautions or PPE. The technologist may also work with patients in acute care, ICU, outpatient, and emergency/trauma settings. The technologist must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and may frequently bend, reach, twist, kneel, assist with patient positioning and transfers, and move or work around MRI equipment. The MRI Technologist must be able to work effectively in a high-volume environment, maintain attention to detail, follow established MRI safety and imaging protocols, and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Additional Requirements Monday-Friday day shift, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM. Job overview indicates no on-call requirement. Floating within scope is required based on department and facility needs. Prisma Health may require agency staff to float to other qualified units and/or campuses. Minimum 1 year of recent Epic experience is required. Flu vaccine is required with no exemptions.

COVID-19

vaccination is not required. Orientation is 16 hours and non-billable. Pre-start modules are billable up to 16 hours. Travelers must meet Prisma Health's mileage requirements. MRI/CT/IR/Echo travelers must be at least 50 miles from the relevant Prisma Health flagship hospital to qualify. Travelers 100+ miles away receive the full bill rate; 50-99.9 miles may be subject to a 10% bill-rate reduction. Travelers under 50 miles are not eligible under the applicable Prisma Health travel policy. Social Security Number is required with submission.
