Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a PRN CT Radiologic Technologist to float among Free Standing Emergency Departments. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT and diagnostic imaging exams, following physician orders and safety protocols. You'll verify patient identity, explain procedures, position patients, and operate CT scanners and related equipment. The technologist ensures accurate image acquisition, proper documentation in PACS/RIS, and timely communication with physicians and ED staff. You will follow radiation safety and infection control standards, assist with contrast administration monitoring, and support emergency workflow in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Responsibilities Perform CT and diagnostic imaging exams per physician orders Prepare and position patients, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort Operate CT scanners, imaging equipment, and related software systems Adhere to radiation safety, ALARA principles, and infection control protocols Verify patient identity and maintain accurate documentation in PACS/RISCollaborate with ED physicians and nurses to support emergent patient care Assess images for quality and completeness, repeating views as needed Assist with contrast studies, monitoring patients for reactions Maintain equipment cleanliness and report malfunctions promptly Support flexible, PRN coverage across multiple Free Standing ED locations Required Skills CT imaging operation and protocols General radiography techniques PACS/RIS and EMR documentation Radiation safety and ALARA practices Patient positioning and immobilization Contrast administration support and monitoring Emergency department workflow familiarity Infection control and PPE use Anatomy and pathology recognition on images Communication with physicians and care teams
