Job Summary and Qualifications The Lead CT Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures ordered by the physician. Lead CT technologist are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a diagnostic/therapeutic environment. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with director/manager, physician, staff or patient issues.
What you will do:
Assure adequate staffing according to volume, flexing when necessary. Coordinates daily technologist assignments. Assures that all exams are completed and put in taken status. Accurately checks daily ancillary charge report. Operates all department equipment safely and properly. Teaches and mentors radiology students. Implements proper exposure techniques and positioning. Practices radiation safety to self, patient and co-workers. Demonstrates the ability to perform contrast media administration according to age/weight specific guidelines. Demonstrates basic of Dose Watch. Follows proper procedures for quality controls related to equipment and accessories. Participates in the holiday and on call work schedule. Follows department protocols for communicating with patients, doctors and coworkers. Transportation of patients to and from the CT dept. safely. Demonstrates knowledge of drugs, their actions, side effects and contraindications for administration. Demonstrates proper documentation concerning patient's history, including lab values prior to contrast administration. Exhibits the ability to start and maintain IV access. Accurately follows physician orders, documents completion of exam in Meditech, scans documents and verifies images in PACS. Creates daily staffing grid. Manages supplies in a cost-effective manner (e.g. supply scanning, crediting supplies not used, overuse of supplies, etc). Takes action that goes beyond job requirement to meet patient/customer/department needs. Helps manages daily department productivity based on patient volume.What qualifications you will need:

Eligibility for benefits may vary by location. Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
