Job Description
The Chief Mammographer is responsible for working directly with patients, staff mammographers and physicians while administering ionizing radiation in the course of mammography procedures. This position is responsible for all the duties of a Level II mammographer. Providing direct technical and clinical support to staff mammographers, oversees all technical factors related to digital mammography production as related to ACR, MQSA and CRMC standards. This position recognizes, anticipates and solves problems in a prompt and efficient manner. This position supervises and guides employees while performing services in a demeanor complimentary to customer service and medical ethics. This position is responsible for performing a variety of dependent and basic secretarial, clerical and housekeeping functions such as examination area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval, (HIS, RIS, PACS), quality control measuring and reporting; and infection control. This position will be required to work effectively with all departments in order to gain or maintain multidisciplinary accreditations. The Chief Mammographer must exercise professional judgment and perform in a demeanor complimentary to customer service and medical ethics.
