The X-Ray Technician is a trained medical professional responsible for performing radiographic duties within the scope allowed by state regulations and departmental policies. Under the supervision of the ordering provider, the LXMO performs limited-scope radiographic exams that are technically accurate, properly positioned, and processed according to clinical standards. Key Responsibilities Performs timely and accurate limited-scope radiology exams based on provider orders and within the regulatory scope of practice. Conducts all required quality control procedures to ensure high-quality diagnostic images. Prepares patients for imaging procedures and strictly follows all clinical, regulatory, and safety protocols, including appropriate radiation protection and shielding techniques . Ensures radiographic equipment is functioning properly; reports malfunctions promptly to the manager or provider on duty. Completes all documentation and patient charting accurately and in a timely manner following organizational standards. Maintains and enhances imaging knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training opportunities. Responsible for keeping all required licenses and certifications up to date in accordance with state and facility guidelines. Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and maintains professionalism while working with a patient population of all ages. Education & Experience Requirements Must have ARRT. Prior x-ray experience of 2 years or greater BLS certification required. Knowledge and competency in operating basic radiographic equipment; C-arm experience preferred but not required for limited-scope operators unless specified by state regulations. About the
