JOB SUMMARY
Working under the supervision of the Director of Radiology and the Staff Radiologist, the Radiology Intern performs a variety of diagnostic radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of diagnostic equipment except for fluoroscopy and c-arm exams. Responsible for preparation of patient for examination.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Obtains and verifies appropriate physician order. Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination. Prepares patients for their examinations. Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered. Assists radiologist when performing special procedures and fluoroscopy. Maintains cleanliness of all radiology equipment rooms. Maintains adequate stock of supplies in weekly assigned room. Performs PACS function Performs exams per department routine. Ensures that expenditures for job related activities are within budgetary constraints. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel and patient care and relations information. Actively participates in Customer/Guest Relations and Mandatory Education programs. Review of patient records for information needed for procedures (i.e. labs, previous procedures etc.) Utilizes HIS and ED computer charting systems to obtain and chart pertinent patient information for transportation and exam purposes. Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices. Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education Current enrollment from a School of Radiology Technology. Certifications See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy. Licensure Special License obtained by the State of Wyoming Board of Radiologic Technologists. Experience Experience in Diagnostic X-Ray is preferred.
