Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our senior living community. This vital role involves designing, coordinating, and executing a variety of activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs. The Activities Director will foster a vibrant community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and enhance residents' quality of life through creative programming. Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse activity programs that cater to residents' physical, emotional, and social needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities. Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, and themed activities to foster community engagement. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and individual care requirements. Collaborate with staff, caregivers, family members, and community partners to ensure activities align with residents' health plans and personal goals. Manage schedules for daily activities, special events, and therapeutic programs while maintaining flexibility to adapt as needed. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when necessary during programming sessions. Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and program outcomes to support continuous improvement. Drive the community bus Requirements Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings; experience in nursing homes or geriatrics is highly preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory support programs, and recreational therapy techniques. Strong understanding of senior care principles including working with geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities. Excellent communication skills for engaging residents, families, staff, and community partners effectively. Proficiency in Computer systems Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs that promote socialization and mental stimulation for seniors. Experience working with individuals facing aging issues or requiring specialized memory care support. Leadership skills to coordinate team efforts and foster a positive environment for residents and staff alike. Pay:
