Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant senior living community as a Memory Care Activities Assistant, where your enthusiasm and compassion will create meaningful experiences for residents with memory impairments. In this dynamic role, you will develop and implement engaging recreational programs tailored to residents' cognitive and physical abilities, fostering joy, social connection, and mental stimulation. Your energetic approach will help enhance residents' quality of life while promoting independence and well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact in a supportive environment dedicated to compassionate senior care. Duties Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of engaging activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and physical movement for residents with memory care needs Develop customized activity programs based on individual resident preferences, abilities, and care plans, including recreational therapy techniques and dementia-friendly exercises Assist residents with mobility support during activities to ensure safety and comfort Build strong rapport with residents through empathetic communication, fostering trust and emotional well-being Collaborate with team members to monitor resident progress, document participation, and adjust programs accordingly to meet evolving needs Coordinate resident events and special programs that encourage community involvement and resident engagement Maintain accurate records of activity participation, resident responses, and any incidents or observations related to memory care activities Will be required to perform transportation for residents to appointments, using the facility transport van. Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and senior care best practices Experience working with individuals with disabilities or memory impairments is highly desirable Strong event planning skills with the ability to develop creative program ideas tailored for seniors with cognitive challenges Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and scheduling purposes Demonstrated ability to build meaningful rapport with seniors and foster a positive community atmosphere Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting to changing resident needs Compassionate caregiving attitude with a focus on aging issues counseling and social work principles is a plus Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
