Job Description

A growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced and compassionate Activity Director to lead an engaging recreation program within a post-acute and long-term care setting. This individual will be responsible for creating meaningful experiences that enhance residents' quality of life while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and oversee a comprehensive activities program for residents. Plan daily, weekly, and monthly calendars featuring recreational, educational, social, and therapeutic activities. Complete resident assessments and develop individualized activity plans. Organize special events, holiday celebrations, community outings, and entertainment. Foster resident engagement by encouraging participation and adapting programs to individual interests and abilities. Maintain activity documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations. Manage department supplies, inventory, and budget. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered care. Supervise activity staff and volunteers as applicable. Qualifications Previous experience as an Activity Director in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred. Activity Director certification or eligibility to obtain certification is preferred. Working knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Creative, compassionate, and dedicated to improving the resident experience. Proficient with basic computer applications.
