Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Memory Care Activities Assistant to join our dedicated senior living community. The non-negotiable schedule for this position is Tuesday- Saturday, 9am-530pm . In this vital role, you will create engaging, meaningful activities tailored specifically for residents with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a vibrant, supportive environment that promotes cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on residents' lives while working alongside a caring team committed to exceptional senior care. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities designed for residents with memory care needs, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, and sensory experiences Develop personalized activity programs that align with residents' interests, abilities, and care plans Build strong rapport with residents through meaningful engagement, fostering trust and emotional connection Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to ensure activities support individual health goals and cognitive functioning Assist in organizing resident events and outings that promote socialization and community involvement Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation, progress, and preferences in electronic health records Support team efforts by providing leadership in activity planning while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with a focus on memory care or geriatrics is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and senior care best practices Proven ability to develop engaging programs through event planning and recreational therapy techniques Strong communication skills to effectively connect with residents, families, and team members Background in caregiving or resident rapport building enhances success in this role Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors through innovative activities that promote joy, independence, and dignity.
