Requirements:

Valid California Licensure Must be certified through NCTRC (National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification) or CBRPC (California Board of Recreation and Park Certification) Must have 2 years of Recreational Therapy Experience Ability to meet physical demands (standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, and lifting as needed)

Responsibilities:

Provide therapeutic recreation services to adult male incarcerated individuals in a correctional healthcare setting. Assess individual needs and develop/implement therapeutic recreation treatment plans Facilitate structured recreation therapy groups and activities focused on improving social skills, coping skills, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. Adapt activities to meet the needs of individuals with mental health, behavioral, cognitive, or physical limitations. Provide services to various populations, including general population, Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP), specialized housing, and reception center units. Complete required clinical documentation, progress notes, and treatment records. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including mental health and medical staff.
