Duties Plan, organize, and coordinate a diverse calendar of resident-centered activities, including recreational therapy sessions, social events, and educational programs tailored to the needs of individuals with hearing impairments Collaborate with staff members, caregivers, and family members to develop personalized activity plans that promote engagement and improve quality of life for residents with dementia, memory care needs, or other geriatrics-related conditions Lead and facilitate activities that foster resident rapport building, socialization, and cognitive stimulation while ensuring accessibility for deaf and hard of hearing participants Manage scheduling of events to maximize participation and resource utilization while maintaining accurate records of attendance and resident feedback Coordinate with community partners and volunteers to enhance program offerings and expand opportunities for residents' involvement in local events or outings Provide training to staff on effective communication strategies with individuals who have hearing impairments or disabilities Maintain detailed documentation of program activities, resident progress, and incident reports as necessary Requirements Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or program development within senior living facilities or long-term care environments Fluent in ASL/Sign Language Prior assisted living or nursing home experience with a focus on geriatrics, dementia care, or memory care is highly desirable Strong knowledge of working with seniors and individuals with disabilities, including Alzheimer's care and aging issues counseling Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to build meaningful rapport with residents from diverse backgrounds Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes Demonstrated leadership skills in team coordination and resident engagement initiatives Familiarity with home & community care practices along with experience working with geriatric patients is preferred Ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in record keeping Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to creating inclusive programs that address residents' physical, emotional, and social needs Join us in creating vibrant programs that enrich the lives of those we serve!
