We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead the Life Engagement Program at our licensed RCFE community in the beautiful city of Visalia, California. In this leadership role, you'll plan and execute meaningful programs and events that enrich the lives of our residents—while fostering engagement, wellness, and joy each day. Key Responsibilities:
Program & Event Leadership Design and lead engaging resident programs that support social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and physical wellness Plan and coordinate on-site and off-site events, excursions, and overnight trips Book and manage entertainment and vendors; negotiate contracts and logistics Oversee transportation services and scheduling, including driving the community vehicle when needed Ensure proper event set-up, execution, and clean-up Team & Volunteer Management Supervise and support the Life Engagement and transportation team Recruit, train, and schedule community volunteers Provide staff training related to resident engagement and communication Resident Engagement & Support Build strong relationships with residents and families Maintain accurate resident social profiles and histories Serve as a liaison to families and other departments regarding residents' psycho-social needs Administrative & Compliance Duties Manage departmental and event budgets Ensure compliance with California RCFE regulations, OSHA, and internal company policies Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure safe operation of transportation vehicles Assist with marketing, internal communications, and community newsletter/calendar
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field (Recreational Therapy, Fine Arts, Gerontology, etc.) preferred 2+ years of experience in senior living, activity planning, or similar field Prior supervisory experience preferred Strong interpersonal and organizational skills CNA experience or previous work with elderly populations a plus Valid CA Driver's License and clean driving record required CDL or willingness to obtain within set timeframe required Current CPR/First Aid and Food Handler certifications or willingness to obtain within set timeframe required Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel proficiently Flexible, creative, and dependable with a genuine passion for enhancing resident life Subject to background check, TB/physical, and drug screening Why Join Us?
