In this dynamic role, you will design, coordinate, and lead engaging recreational activities tailored to seniors' interests and needs. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, supportive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults while developing your skills in senior care and program development. Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities, including games, arts and crafts, outings, and special events that cater to residents' interests and abilities Coordinate resident events to encourage social interaction and community engagement Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility support, dressing, and personal care when needed Build strong rapport with residents by engaging in meaningful conversations and understanding their individual preferences Maintain detailed records of activities participation, resident feedback, and progress notes Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities align with residents' health conditions, including memory care and dementia-specific needs Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of planned programs while adapting to changing resident needs Skills Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity coordination Background in assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on geriatrics or memory care Strong understanding of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and aging issues counseling Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and scheduling purposes Ability to develop innovative programs that promote resident well-being and foster community spirit Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs within long-term care or home & community care settings Leadership skills to motivate team members and coordinate resident-centered activities seamlessly Join us in creating joyful moments for our residents!
