The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, particularly those with Alzheimer's and dementia, and will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through recreational therapy and social interaction. Duties Organize and implement a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety. Foster a supportive environment by encouraging participation in group activities and one-on-one interactions. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activities. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, promoting social engagement and mental stimulation. Manage schedules effectively to ensure that all planned activities are executed smoothly. Assist in the coordination of special events, outings, and celebrations within the facility. Experience Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred, but not required. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Background in recreational therapy or social work is a plus. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting effectively with residents, families, and team members. Experience in aging issues counseling or caregiving will be beneficial for this role.
