Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in creating vibrant, engaging, and meaningful experiences for residents. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in assisted living and memory care settings by planning and facilitating diverse recreational activities. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a warm, inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while working closely with seniors. Duties Develop and coordinate a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including recreational therapy sessions and social events. Assist residents with participation in activities, ensuring they feel comfortable, supported, and included. Collaborate with care staff to incorporate individual care plans into activity programming, especially for those with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory impairments. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of planned events while accommodating residents' daily routines. Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility assistance, dressing, or other personal care tasks during events(if needed). Foster a lively and positive atmosphere by encouraging social interaction and community involvement among residents. Maintain accurate records of participation, activity feedback, and resident preferences to continually improve program offerings. Completes assessment of new residents to determine interests, likes, hobbies, prior life history, and limitations. Assesses residents for activity groups. Completes activity assessments on all new residents.

• Assists with the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of varying levels of activities for Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care Residents. Conducts activity groups to assure residents have an enriched quality of life. Assists with transporting, communicating and setting up for activity programs in community on a daily basis. Assists in ordering or purchasing supplies for activities and picking up materials needed from outside facility. Essential duties and responsibilities include other duties that may be assigned. Complies with all mandated laws. Performs other duties a assigned by Activities Director or Executive Director. Qualifications Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia management, memory care strategies, and aging issues counseling. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care settings is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and collaborate with team members. Ability to assist residents with ADLs and manage activity schedules efficiently. Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to enhance the lives of seniors through creative programming. Long-term care experience or caregiving background is preferred; familiarity with social work principles is a plus. Join us to bring joy, connection, and purpose into the lives of those we serve!
