This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being among residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of aging issues and demonstrate a passion for working with seniors, particularly those with memory care needs. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational activities that encourage participation and foster community spirit. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure all activities meet the diverse needs of the community. Provide counseling on aging issues to residents and their families, offering support and resources as needed. Collaborate with ALF staff to create programs that align with residents' health needs, including those requiring dementia care or long-term care support. Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and assess the effectiveness of programs regularly. Train and supervise volunteers or activity aides who assist in delivering programs. Qualifications Previous experience in event planning or activities coordination within senior care settings is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff. Knowledge of aging issues, memory care techniques, and best practices in senior care. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to create a supportive environment for residents. Compassionate approach towards individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Familiarity with home community care principles is an advantage. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful activities.
