The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event planning and recreational therapy, with experience in senior care, including Alzheimer's and dementia care. This role is essential in creating engaging programs that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity among residents. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents. Plan and coordinate events, outings, and activities that foster community engagement and socialization. Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive for all residents, including those with disabilities. Conduct assessments to determine residents' interests and capabilities to tailor activities accordingly. Facilitate recreational therapy sessions aimed at improving physical and mental well-being. Maintain schedule management for all planned activities, ensuring proper staffing and resources are available. Provide support in assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding upcoming events and individual resident needs. Stay informed about aging issues and best practices in senior care to continually enhance program offerings. Qualifications Previous experience in event planning or coordinating activities within an assisted living or nursing home environment is preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and recreational therapy practices is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care settings is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting to the dynamic needs of the facility. Background in social work or counseling related to aging issues is beneficial.
