Job Description
Job description: Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activities Director to lead and coordinate meaningful activity programs for residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility. The Activities Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive activities program that promotes residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being in accordance with federal, state of Florida, and facility regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic professional who is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals requiring skilled nursing care. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activity program that meets the interests and needs of residents Complete activity assessments and care plans in compliance with state and federal regulations Coordinate group and individual activities, including social, recreational, educational, and spiritual programs Plan and manage community outings and special events Supervise and support activity staff and volunteers Maintain required documentation in accordance with CMS and Florida state guidelines Manage department budget, supplies, and calendars Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure resident-centered care Ensure compliance with all applicable Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) regulations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, or related field preferred Certified Activity Director (ADC) or eligible for certification preferred Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing Knowledge of Florida long-term care regulations and documentation requirements Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused mindset Benefits Competitive salary Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off 401(k) retirement plan Supportive team environment Opportunities for professional growth Work Environment Skilled Nursing Facility setting Full-time position May require occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on resident needs and events
