Job Overview As a Lifestyles Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and long-term care settings. You will be the driving force behind engaging activities and programs that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being. Your passion for working with seniors, especially those with Alzheimer's and dementia, will shine through as you create a vibrant community atmosphere that fosters connection and joy. What you'll do Design and implement innovative recreational therapy programs tailored to the needs of residents. Plan and coordinate events that encourage participation and foster community spirit among residents. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care plans that address individual needs, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Provide support for residents with memory care challenges, including Alzheimer's and dementia care. Engage families in the care process by offering counseling on aging issues and resources available for support. Manage schedules for activities, ensuring a balanced mix of social, educational, and therapeutic opportunities. Maintain open lines of communication with residents, families, and staff to promote a cohesive care environment. Supervise volunteers and staff involved in lifestyle programming to ensure high-quality delivery of services. Experience Proven experience in event planning within senior care environments or similar settings. Background in assisted living or nursing home operations is essential. Familiarity with recreational therapy principles and practices is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Knowledge of caregiving practices and long-term care experience is beneficial. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting to changing needs within the community. A degree or certification in social work or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
