Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Activities Director to lead the day-to-day resident engagement activities within a senior living community. This leader will ensure residents receive exceptional service, meaningful engagement, and personalized experiences while creating a welcoming and positive environment for residents, families, and staff. The ideal candidate is an energetic, people-focused leader who understands senior living, builds strong relationships, and can effectively lead a team while maintaining high standards of service and resident satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Hands-on resident engagement, activities, and experience programs. Create meaningful opportunities that promote social connection, purpose, and quality of life. Develop and maintain a resident-centered calendar of programs and events. Build strong relationships with residents and families and respond to their needs with professionalism and compassion. Partner with community leadership and department leaders to create a consistent, exceptional resident experience. Lead, coach, and hold team members accountable for delivering excellent service. Coordinate special events, outings, celebrations, and community programs. Gather resident and family feedback and identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure programs and activities are appropriately documented and meet applicable standards. Manage departmental resources, supplies, and expenses responsibly. Support a positive, welcoming, and engaging community culture. What We're Looking For 2+ years of leadership experience in senior living, hospitality, activities, resident engagement, or a related field. Experience working with older adults in an assisted living or memory care environment strongly preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to build genuine relationships with residents, families, and associates. Creative, energetic, and enthusiastic approach to resident programming and engagement. Strong follow-through and ability to manage multiple priorities. Comfortable leading a team and holding others accountable. Ability to work collaboratively with community leadership. Proficiency with basic computer applications and documentation systems. Must demonstrate professionalism, compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to serving older adults.
