Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging programs and recreational activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a variety of social, educational, and therapeutic activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a vibrant community environment where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired to participate actively in their daily lives. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being for residents. Coordinate and facilitate resident events, outings, recreational therapies, and special celebrations that cater to varied interests and abilities. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their individual preferences, needs, and limitations to personalize activity plans effectively. Collaborate with staff members across departments such as nursing, caregiving, and therapy teams to integrate activities into overall care plans. Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent engagement while accommodating residents' routines and health considerations. Lead a team of activity assistants or volunteers, providing guidance, training, and motivation to deliver high-quality programs. Maintain accurate records of resident participation, activity feedback, and program outcomes to support continuous improvement efforts. Requirements Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity coordination within assisted living or nursing home settings. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care programs, and geriatric health issues. Strong understanding of long-term care environments and working with individuals with disabilities or special needs. Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and reporting purposes. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs that foster resident rapport building and community involvement. Prior experience working with seniors in senior living facilities or home & community care environments is highly desirable. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
