Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Director to lead engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable programs for our senior residents. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, physical wellness, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a vibrant community atmosphere where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired to live their best lives every day. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and facilitate diverse resident activities, including social events, educational programs, fitness classes, arts and crafts, and memory care activities tailored to individual needs. Coordinate resident events by managing schedules, securing resources, and collaborating with staff and community partners to ensure successful execution. Build strong rapport with residents through personalized engagement and attentive communication to understand their preferences and interests. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during programming sessions to promote independence and safety. Develop innovative programs that support cognitive health, physical activity, emotional well-being, and social interaction for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function. Maintain detailed records of activities conducted, resident participation levels, and feedback to continually improve program offerings. Lead team efforts by supervising activity staff or volunteers, providing training on recreational therapy techniques, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Requirements Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities or nursing homes; experience in senior care or geriatrics is highly preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care strategies, and working with individuals with disabilities. Strong understanding of recreational therapy principles and program development tailored for seniors with diverse needs. Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with residents, families, staff, and community partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Demonstrated ability to lead teams confidently while fostering a positive environment focused on resident engagement. Experience working with geriatric patients or those requiring long-term care; familiarity with aging issues counseling is a plus. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Pay:
$21.63 - $24.04 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
