What they do
A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description
Location:
Ware C&A Closing date: Open until filled
Salary:
Commensurate with education and credentials
•$1,000 signing bonus after 90 days of employment; $4,000 retention bonus after completion of one year of employment. Additionally, those employees seeking Master's licensure will be allowed up to $500 reimbursement for the cost of study material and/or application/testing fees.
• Provides assessments and therapy to child & adolescent clients in clinic. Provides a broad range of social services to clients and their families. Participates in treatment team planning and performs crisis intervention. Assists in dealing with personal and social problems. Serves as a liaison for social services.
Job Responsibilities:
Will work Monday-Thursday, 7 AM - 6 PM.
Competencies:
Knowledge of diagnostic impressions or criteria. Knowledge of how client advocacy system operates. Knowledge of individual and group therapy techniques. Knowledge of various therapeutic models and intervention as directly related to area of assignment. Knowledge of crises intervention techniques.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old to apply. Master's degree in a helping field and pursuing licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT). Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record with less than 6 points. Preference for experience with or knowledge of trauma informed, resilience-oriented care.
