We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Assistant Director of Activities to help lead our Activities Department and create meaningful experiences that enhance the lives of our residents. Position Summary The Assistant Director of Activities supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic programs designed to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of residents. This position works closely with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to promote engagement, independence, and quality of life. Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily activities and special events. Lead individual and group activities that encourage resident participation and engagement. Support resident outings, holiday celebrations, and community events. Develop positive relationships with residents and families. Assist with completing resident activity assessments and documentation. Help maintain activity calendars, newsletters, and communication boards. Coordinate volunteers and community groups as needed. Transport residents safely to and from activities within the facility. Maintain activity supplies and assist with decorating for events and holidays. Ensure activities meet regulatory requirements and resident interests. Serve as department leader in the Activities Director's absence. Collaborate with Nursing, Therapy, Social Services, and other departments to provide exceptional resident experiences. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in Activities, Recreation, Healthcare, Senior Living, or Customer Service preferred. Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic personality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills required.
