Job Overview:
The Activity Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of the activity program. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and a strong commitment to resident engagement. You will play a vital part in enhancing the social, cognitive, and recreational well-being of our residents, ensuring they enjoy meaningful experiences throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement engaging, fun, and enriching activities that cater to the physical, mental, and emotional needs of residents. Ensure the safety of all participants during activities, addressing safety concerns and eliminating hazards. Provide direct care and supervision to residents during activities, as needed, offering assistance to promote active participation. Collaborate with direct care staff to foster an inclusive, supportive, and socially engaging environment for residents. Plan and oversee daily activity schedules, ensuring programming is consistently carried out seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Stay on call to address any programmatic needs, ensuring seamless activity execution at all times. Maintain accurate records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to continually improve programming.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in activity planning, recreation therapy, or a related field preferred. Strong creativity, organization, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Must be able to lift, assist, and engage residents as necessary.
