Overview We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Life Enrichment Director to lead engaging programs and activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in a senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for senior care, with extensive experience in program development, recreational therapy, and working with geriatric populations. As the Life Enrichment Director, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing a variety of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities that promote mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Your leadership will foster a vibrant community environment where residents feel valued, engaged, and supported. Duties Develop and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities. Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, and social gatherings to foster community involvement and resident rapport building. Lead and supervise activity staff, providing training in recreational therapy techniques and person-centered care approaches. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to assess individual resident needs and preferences for personalized programming. Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent engagement opportunities while maintaining flexibility for special occasions or resident requests. Maintain detailed documentation of resident participation, progress, and feedback to inform ongoing program adjustments. Ensure compliance with safety standards and health regulations during all activities while promoting an inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Experience Proven experience in senior care settings such as assisted living facilities or nursing homes with a focus on activity programming. Strong background in recreational therapy, geriatrics, or related fields including Alzheimer's care and memory support programs. Demonstrated leadership skills in team management within long-term care or senior living environments. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for documentation, scheduling, and communication purposes. Experience developing engaging programs that support residents' physical health, cognitive function, and social interaction. Knowledge of aging issues counseling, dementia care strategies, and working with geriatric patients is essential. Excellent communication skills to effectively connect with residents, families, staff members, and community partners.
