1. Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in the content areas or relevant educational area. 2. Demonstrated evidence of a strong academic and performance concentration in one of the visual or performing arts areas. 3. Valid Massachusetts Teacher License in the content area and certifiable in an Administrative/Supervisor area. 4. Teaching and/or supervisory experience totaling a minimum of five years. 5. Previous successful experience in administration and/or curriculum in the Fine Arts preferred. 6. Experience in working with parents, volunteers and community organizations. 7. Knowledge of relevant educational technologies and the ability to integrate technology in all facets of the position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Responsible for the supervision, evaluation, and development of the Billerica Fine Arts program K-12. Coordinate curriculum development and revision efforts with teachers in the department, focusing on aligning the curriculum with Mass K-12 Arts Frameworks. Provide instructional leadership for teachers at all grade levels in the area of classroom Frameworks. Collaborate with principals in the hiring, mentoring, supervision and evaluation of Fine Arts personnel, K-12. Work closely with building principals to ensure the successful scheduling of Fine Arts teachers. Plan, prepare and execute Fine Arts budget. Supervise all co-curricular and extra-curricular programs and performing groups related to Fine Arts. Coordinate the rentals of the auditoriums in conjunction with the district business office and building principals. Serve on the Executive Board of the Friends of Music. Work closely with the Assistant Superintendent and Principals in developing Curriculum Goals, School Improvement Plans, and the District Improvement Plan. Demonstrate effective communication and facilitation skills when interacting with colleagues, parents and administrators. Track the ordering, delivery, and payment of materials purchased for the departments including the preparation of annual inventory of materials and equipment. Ensure that textbooks, supplies, and other educational materials are distributed to classroom. Perform other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
