JOB PURPOSE
The Memory Care Director will oversee the daily operations of the Memory Care Unit. Including but not limited to, coordinating the program/activities, services, policies and procedures to ensure a therapeutic, engaging and safe environment for all Residents. Supervising and management of staff and CNA's.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a working knowledge of the most common dementia disease processes and psychopharmacology as pertains to residents with dementia disease processes. Must have a working knowledge of failure free approaches to activities and ADLs. Certified Dementia Practitioner "CDP" preferred but will train Minimum 2 years' experience caring for individuals with age-related brain disease. Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity preferred. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when required. Must possess the ability to tactfully interact with personnel, neighbors and families. Must possess an understanding of the social, psychological, physical and leisure needs of residents living in a special care unit. #
