  • Registered or Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT; BC-DMT) (preferred, not required)
  • Accredited Masters of Mental Health Counseling
  • Dance Movement Therapy or Expressive Arts Therapy (preferred, not required)

Job Description:
The Dance Movement Therapist organizes and implements programs designed to meet the individual needs of our residents. Also providing quality verbal and non-verbal enrichment programs with the influence of art, music, and movement for residents in our assisted living and memory care neighborhood. The role would include expanding the diverse definition of each wellness activity to meet residents where they are to enhance quality of life. The Dance Movement Therapist will join a team consisting of art therapist(s), Music therapist(s) and expressive therapies interns to collaborate in building a spectrum of therapeutic approaches designed to meet one or all of the 6 Dimensions of Wellness for our diverse population.   • Saturday, full time $19.75/hr
  • $21/hr Responsibilities Assists in the development and implementation of an innovative seven day a week activity program that is engaging Responsible for leading and implementing one-on-one, small group and large group activities according to the programming schedule Supports, encourages and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups Supports the resident's abilities by understanding that all aspects of care can be viewed as an activity Demonstrates knowledge about residents in regard to background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity and attention span capability Encourages and motivates residents to attend and participate in programming and activities Communicates any changes in the residents condition or behavior pattern to Harbor Care Director Stays with group at all times when on excursions Requirements Must have a high school diploma, bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
