Job Description

Director of Resident Life Frederick, MD | Small, All-Female Residential Home A small nonprofit assisted living home for women is seeking a Director of Resident Life to develop and coordinate meaningful recreational and social activities, respond to residents' needs, and help foster a welcoming, engaging, and supportive home environment.
Principal Duties:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate a program of recreational and social activities for residents, including coordination with the Monthly Managers who provide additional resident activities. Be a visible presence throughout the Home and visit the residents on an individual basis. Act as a liaison to the families of the residents. Welcome and assist new residents with the transition into the facility. Monitor resident needs, preferences, concerns, and overall satisfaction. Address resident questions, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally. Promote resident dignity, independence, privacy, and quality of life. Supervise the Laundry Department of the Home. Maintain accurate and timely records and documentation related to resident services, activities, concerns, and other responsibilities of the position, in accordance with facility policies and state regulations. Provide occasional transportation of the residents to their medical and dental appointments. Collaborate with the Board of Managers as needed. Attend the weekly staff meetings and monthly Board of Managers meetings. Be available to assume some emergency and holiday duties. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Four-year college degree, in a related field preferred Previous experience working in geriatrics, genuine interest in and empathy for older people, and knowledge of recreational activities for elderly people Valid driver's license and a good driving record Strong communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional Basic computer and documentation skills - Microsoft Word and Excel Must meet all applicable state licensing, training, background check, and employment requirements Must be able to report to the Home within 30 minutes when called upon to respond to an urgent staffing or operational need
Work Schedule:
Full-time salaried position. Forty hours per week schedule with some holiday and emergency coverage required.

General Manager Pay:
$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
