Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. In this vital role, you will develop, coordinate, and oversee a variety of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors, including those with memory care and dementia. Your enthusiasm and leadership will create a vibrant community where residents feel connected, valued, and inspired every day. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and implement a dynamic calendar of resident activities that promote socialization, physical activity, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being. Coordinate resident events such as outings, themed parties, arts and crafts sessions, and fitness classes to foster community engagement. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their individual preferences, needs, and abilities to tailor activities accordingly. Collaborate with staff members across departments to ensure activities align with care plans and safety protocols. Manage scheduling for activities staff and volunteers to ensure consistent program delivery. Maintain detailed records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve program offerings. Communicate effectively with residents' families about upcoming events and resident progress. Experience Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or senior care settings. Background in assisted living or nursing home environments with familiarity in geriatrics and memory care. Demonstrated knowledge of recreational therapy techniques tailored for seniors with disabilities or dementia. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and volunteers while fostering teamwork. Excellent communication skills for engaging residents, families, and team members alike. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, record keeping, and program development purposes. Experience working with geriatric patients requiring specialized Alzheimer's or dementia care is highly desirable. $21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
