Job Description

Activities Director Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Activities Director to join our team at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Glade Valley in Walkersville, Maryland. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for directing the development, implementation, and supervision of the activities program designed to meet the social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs of our residents. Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, supervises, and directs all administrative and operational activities of the Activities Department Develops and implements a comprehensive activities program that meets the social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs of residents Coordinates and schedules activities, both individual and group, to ensure a diverse and engaging experience for residents Monitors and evaluates the response to programs to determine if they meet the assessed needs of residents, and makes revisions as necessary Ensures that each resident is offered at least one cognitive activity, two recreational activities, and three ADL activities daily Oversees the transportation of residents to social activities programs Collaborates with the care team to ensure that activities are tailored to the unique requirements and skills of each resident
Requirements:
Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional with a licensed or registered status, if applicable, by the state in which practicing Must be eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activities professional by a recognized accrediting body on or after October 1, 1990; or Must have 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program; or Must be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or Must have completed a training course approved by the
