Job Description
Job Summary As an Activities Director, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care facilities. You will design and implement engaging programs that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity. Your passion for creating meaningful experiences will empower residents to thrive while fostering a warm and inclusive community atmosphere. What you'll do Develop and coordinate a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Lead group sessions that encourage participation, creativity, and socialization among residents. Organize special events, and celebrations that enhance community engagement and foster connections among residents, families, and staff. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve programming. Train and supervise volunteers or staff assisting with activities to ensure a supportive environment. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote upcoming events and gather input for future activities. Basic qualifications Experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings. Familiarity with memory care practices, including working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Preferred qualifications Background in caregiving or long-term care experience. Knowledge of aging issues counseling or social work principles. Strong communication skills to engage effectively with diverse populations. Proven ability in schedule management to balance multiple activities seamlessly.
