Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our vibrant team dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively community environment, promote social interaction, and support residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse activity programs that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including specialized programs for memory care and dementia patients Coordinate resident events, outings, and recreational therapies that promote socialization and engagement Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interactions, encouraging participation and fostering a sense of community Collaborate with caregiving staff, social workers, and family members to assess individual resident preferences and develop tailored activity plans Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation, progress notes, and activity outcomes Utilize Microsoft Office tools to organize schedules, prepare activity materials, and communicate effectively with team members Qualifications Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory support strategies Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in long-term or home & community care settings Strong communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with residents and team members Ability to develop engaging programs that promote physical activity, mental stimulation, and social interaction Familiarity with program development and schedule management software such as Microsoft Office suite Demonstrated compassion for aging issues counseling and senior living facility environments Team-oriented mindset with leadership qualities to coordinate resident events effectively Join us in creating a lively community where every resident feels valued, engaged, and supported. Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
