Regional Director of of Social Services and Activities MGM Healthcare Home Office Creve Coeur, MO Job Details Full-time 5 days ago Qualifications Social work Bachelor's degree Team management Healthcare team management Full Job Description MGM Healthcare provides rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, and independent living centers in Iowa, Missouri and Oklahoma. Our centers provide on-site therapy and rehabilitation services - using the latest equipment and techniques - that run the gamut from physical and occupational therapy to special memory units and respite care. Our corporate office is located in St. Louis, Missouri. This position would support of the 31 Facilities through out Missouri, Iowa and Oklahoma.
Essential Functions of Regional Director of Social Services & Activities:
Assure that Social Services and Activities programs are integrated and coordinated across all assigned centers through effective communication at all levels Provide leadership, direction, and support to Social Services and Activities departments to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care Develop and implement specific, measurable, and realistic plans and objectives that enhance psychosocial services and resident engagement programs Oversee psychosocial assessment and reassessment processes to ensure residents' needs and preferences are identified and addressed Ensure activity programs are meaningful, individualized, and promote residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to Social Services and Activities Conduct routine site visits, audits, and evaluations of department performance, documentation, and outcomes Support discharge planning processes to ensure safe and appropriate transitions of care Supports Advance Care Planning and Advance Directives processes to ensure residents' have succession planning for medical and financial decisions in place Promote and uphold residents' rights and the "Residents' Bill of Rights" Provide guidance and support to staff in managing resident and family concerns, including crisis situations Foster community relationships, partnerships, and volunteer programs to enhance resident experiences Collaborate with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support a culture of quality, safety, and teamwork Identify trends, implement performance improvement plans, and monitor effectiveness of interventions Provide education, training, and mentorship to Social Services and Activities staff Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for department staff Assist centers in planning and executing special events, programs, and marketing initiatives Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and timely completion of required logs and records Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with residents, families, medical staff, and employees Perform all aspects of oversight in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors Travel to assigned centers as requiredQualifications of Regional Director of Social Services & Activities:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field required Current State Social Work Licensure (if applicable) preferred Activities certification (CTRS or equivalent) preferred Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of leadership experience in Social Services and/or Activities in a healthcare setting Multi-site or regional experience preferred Knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey process Ability to read, write, and speak the English language Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and all levels of the organization Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of training techniques for clinical and support staff Good ethical practice and relationship management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and function under stressful situationsEEO Statement:
