A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description The Opportunity:
Saint Luke's Crittenton Children's Center in South Kansas City, MO is seeking a Hospital Therapist to join our team. This position provides individual group and family therapy as well as case management services, recommends and implements general therapeutic interventions both for individual clients and for overall program development, and functions as the therapist for patients and families with the psychiatrist as clinical team leader and will provide for additional work functions in the area of Utilization Management. We are seeking Hospital Therapists with experience working with children. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the system and processes of mental health care. We are looking for someone with great communication and written skills with a warm, caring attitude. To be successful in this role, you must be detail oriented, efficient, adaptable, and capable of multitasking. This position requires you to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously. Conduct Individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy Formulate treatment plans Formulate discharge plans Must have a master's degree and applicable MO license (LMSW, LPC, PLPC, LCSW). Position for Friday-Monday 10 hour days, flexible start time between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Why Saint Luke's?
