Plans and organizes the activities of assigned program areas; provides responsible staff support to the administrator; manages the activities of faculty and staff; may interface with external customers to determine current training needs. Organizes and supports divisional processes such as accreditation and licensing board agreements, summer camps, Open House events, expansion of noncredit programs, etc. Assists the faculty and leadership in developing and implementing new noncredit courses or programs to meet the hiring needs of the community. This would also include the continuing education needs of our recent graduates. Uses data to make informed decisions on the success of program selections. Supports the recruitment and interviewing of new noncredit instructors and may provide orientation for new instructors, evaluates trainer/instructor performance using course evaluation data. Investigate and communicate instructor qualifications as needed. Understands and supports documentation for new student orientations, licensing board documents and reports, facilitates inspections for sanitation grades, and proofs class schedule for accuracy as needed. Collaborate with Associate Deans to confirm workload and contract requirements for CCE workloads. Understands and supports the noncredit registration process, FTE earnings, scholarship process, and sponsor desk process to support student registration as needed. Understands and supports the required process for cosmetic arts program requirements. Maintain program handbook, faculty onboarding, and procurement processes for salon and classroom lab supplies. Point of Sale support for salon revenue reports for end-of-day and reconciliation. Serve as the primary compliance coordinator for all Cosmetic Arts and Barbering programs, ensuring adherence to North Carolina State Board regulations, policies, and accreditation standards. Maintain and oversee all student licensing records, including enrollment documentation, attendance, training hours, practical operations, and graduation eligibility requirements. Conduct routine internal audits of student and school records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness for State Board inspections and audits. Monitor compliance with state licensing requirements for Cosmetology, Barbering, Esthetics, Natural Hair Care, Manicuring, and Instructor programs. Prepare, organize, and submit required reports, documentation, and responses to the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners and Barber Examiners. Serve as the liaison between the college and state licensing boards regarding audits, inspections, compliance updates, and regulatory changes. Develop and implement standardized recordkeeping procedures across all campuses and programs to ensure consistency and compliance. Train faculty and staff on compliance requirements, documentation standards, attendance procedures, and audit preparation expectations. Monitor student clock hours, satisfactory academic progress, and licensure eligibility to ensure compliance with state and institutional requirements. Identify compliance risks or deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to maintain program approval and operational integrity. Support program leadership during state board visits, audits, accreditation reviews, and compliance investigations. Maintain confidential student and institutional records in accordance with FERPA, state regulations, and college policies. Collaborate with academic leadership, admissions, student records, and financial services to ensure accurate reporting and student documentation. Track regulatory updates and communicate changes in state board policies, laws, and procedures impacting Cosmetic Arts and Barbering programs. Assist with annual program reviews, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives related to licensure and regulatory standards. Collaborates with Business Workforce Liaison to develop course or program costs, makes recommendations to the Executive Director or Dean of OE or self-supporting, and tracks budgets for both areas. Initiates the marketing of noncredit program areas; works with marketing staff to update the website and prepares marketing materials and literature for distribution to potential students; makes presentations to schools, organizations, and agencies as needed. Ensures CE end-of-course documentation requirements are completed efficiently. Completes required course audits and reviews of course content to ensure compliance with college standards and updated content to ensure courses stay relevant to community needs. Performs syllabi audits and ensures LMS is utilizing the most up-to-date template and requirements. Reviews the need for equipment, supplies, and instructional materials and recommends purchase for new courses or programs; understands programmatic options to optimize synergies between credit and noncredit courses. Makes recommendations to Executive Director or Dean. Tracks and reports student job placement, exam applications, and pass rates for all noncredit and credit courses with a formal process. Helps coordinate and market summer camps and open house events and tracks students for future enrollment at Central Piedmont. Performs other duties as assigned. Associate degree from an accredited institution in Cosmetology or business area and a minimum of 2 years of work experience or teaching experience in cosmetic arts or community college
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field.
