Exempt, 12 month employee Reports to: Assistant Principal of Family and Student Life. (Direct relationship with principals)Purpose:
Plan, direct and review the activities and operations of K- 12 student activities, including but not limited to: field trips, community events, school functions, etc.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan on/Off campus field trips k-12 Plan On/off campus community service trips k-12 Parent Council Parent Volunteers (hours, emails, volunteer opportunities, etc) Student Volunteers (hours, emails, volunteer opportunities, etc)Field Trips:
location and buses, figure cost to be submitted to accounting for approval, communicate with accounting on payment of invoices and chaperones fees.Special Events:
Work closely with administration on special events such as bridging ceremony, field day, teacher appreciation, etcWhole School Events:
Work with SED to organize school wide events such as, Boo Bash, awards ceremonies, Community Carnival, etc Work with chief of staff to assist with staff events: meetings, teacher appreciation, workdays, lunches, etcCalendar:
Coordinate master calendar, and facility use calendar. Plan School Picture days Supports and attends student and staff events and activities, including some traveling with students to field trips (day only), and some overnight trips if so desired. Works with the business office to get contracts signs, POs, etc. Works with the communications director to have social media reminders and posts on events, trips, etc Work with other departments to get any trips, events, etc planned, on calendar, etc Works with admin to set activity dues Plans grade level meetings to discuss field trips. Works with the transportation department to schedule buses, etc Any other assigned duties.Additional Expectations:
Perform related work as required. Considerable knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. General knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and functions of the office to which assigned. Ability to deal with people in a tactful and effective manner and to use judgment and discretion in giving out or withholding confidential information. Ability to perform assignments on the basis of general outlines or directions without specific instructions as to details and to perform continuing assignments independently. Ability to type material of any degree of difficulty at an average speed and to take and transcribe diction of any degree of difficulty. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to utilize positive human relation skills with all staff. Skills of keyboarding with accuracy at the speed necessary for the position. Skills in operating a computer with word processing, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing applications. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to compile and summarize information. Ability to resolve problem situations with sound judgment. Ability to demonstrate proper telephone etiquette. Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters relating to the school system. Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in completing work assignments. Knowledge of business letter writing and memos. Ability to compose correspondences independently. Ability to work in the absence of supervision. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.Other Responsibilities:

Desired Training and experience High school diploma Preferred - Degree in or related experience in communications, advertising, or marketing Experience in secretarial functions, public relations, or event planning.Preferred Qualifications:

Is able to multi-task and stay organized with myriad responsibilities and projects. Understands the importance of activities at UA. Has significant organizational experience working collaboratively with parents and teachers. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
