Job Description

Memory Care Activities Specialist needed for luxury Assisted and Independent Living Facility! Must have experience working with seniors with dementia and experience working in an activities department.
POSITION SUMMARY
Hillsbrook Village at Allenstown is a senior living community in Allenstown, NH, offering area seniors three levels of living: independent, assisted and memory care assisted living. Our innovative wellness model adheres to the seven dimensions of wellness model set out by the International Council on
Active Aging:
physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, vocational and environmental. Responsibilities Standard of Performance The memory care specialist leads and/or monitors programs and activities, in addition, utilizing our communications portal, Life Loop, will create daily, weekly, and monthly calendars. Communicates to Director of LEAP resident desires and needs. Assesses new residents' activity interests and encourages participation. Ensures a safe environment when using stoves, ovens and other potentially hazardous equipment. Maintains a clean environment, free of trip hazards. Ensures that community space is left as it was before a program, this may include re-setting furniture, cleaning up spills or messes, and putting equipment away. Solicits resident wishes for programs and activities. Participates in Resident Council as appropriate. Helps track accurate and detailed documentation of resident activity participation and interests. Performance Improvement Participates in departmental and personal improvement activities. Completes all required state, community, and Relias trainings in a timely manner. Confidentiality Assures and maintains an appropriate level of confidentiality. Teamwork Demonstrates an understanding of the effect of individual job responsibilities to coworkers in the organization and other departments. Encourages teamwork among residents, staff, and volunteers. Facilitates positive team collaboration. Communication Must develop good relationships with the resident population. Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and possess excellent listening and verbal skills. Is comfortable speaking in and working with groups. Writes documents and verbally communicates in a clear, concise and effective format. Communicates with team to achieve a mutual understanding. Conveys a professional and positive image. Demonstrates an ability to express self successfully.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
