Mechanical Assembly Technician Job Description The Mechanical Assembly Technician assembles complex mechanical systems and components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role prepares and assembles products according to detailed specifications and engineering drawings, supports maintenance activities across the facility, and ensures all work meets quality and safety standards. The technician collaborates closely with team members, uses a wide range of hand and power tools, and contributes to the reliable and timely delivery of finished products. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical products and systems according to specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documents. Prepare hoses for water-cooling systems, ensuring proper fit, connections, and leak-free performance. Assemble pallets and prepare equipment and furnaces for safe and secure shipping. Rework and modify parts as needed to meet quality and functional requirements. Perform typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the wider facility. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the appropriate supervisor or lead. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times. Follow prescribed safety regulations and company procedures while performing all tasks. Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery, building systems, and grounds as required. Deliver and pick up parts and products from vendors as needed to support production schedules. Assemble gas systems accurately by reading blueprints, schematics, and drawings, and by following clear verbal instructions. Use mechanical hand and power tools, including those related to pneumatics and hydraulics, to build and assemble components. Troubleshoot basic mechanical assembly issues and support machine building activities as required. Collaborate with a team-oriented workforce to meet production goals and quality standards. Essential Skills High school diploma. 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. Familiarity with mechanical hand and power tools. Experience with mechanical assembly, including working with pneumatics and hydraulics. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and wiring concepts relevant to assembly work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Some mechanical knowledge and understanding beyond basic aptitude. Experience using power tools, mechanical hand tools, and related equipment in an industrial setting. Exposure to assembling gas systems and reading complex mechanical and electrical schematics. Troubleshooting skills related to mechanical assembly and machine building. Comfort working with build processes that involve pneumatics, hydraulics, and wiring. Work Environment This role is based in a busy manufacturing environment where production activity can be fast-paced and dynamic. While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly be exposed to vibration and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, at heights in high or precarious places, and around equipment where there is a potential risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work area is usually very loud, and appropriate personal protective equipment is required and provided in accordance with safety guidelines. The position involves hands-on work with machinery, tools, and industrial equipment, and requires consistent adherence to safety procedures in a shop-floor setting.
Pay:
$27.00 - $31.00 per hour
